6A's Egg Experiment in Science

Dear Parents,
Here are some pictures, taken by one of our class photographers (Can you guess who?), of the egg experiment they did, over the course of two weeks, in science class. They emersed several hardboiled eggs in various liquids to see if they would stain the outer shell of the eggs the way that certain liquids we drink will stain our teeth. Then they "brushed " each egg with a toothbrush and toothpaste, to see if they could get rid of or make the stain less noticeable. Please ask your child to tell you which liquids were used,  which ones stained the eggs, and if they were successful in removing any of the stains by "brushing" the eggs. Don't forget to ask them what this experiment showed them about their teeth. (This experiment was done in correlation with our unit about teeth.) Happy viewing!
                                               Sincerely,
                                               Louise Catlin
